D. JEFF MOUNT
USGTF Level III Member, Tigard, Oregon

I attended the Level III certification course in Oakland in early May. I am literally blown away by how quickly things jumped off.

I have completed five small-group clinics and have seven going currently, along with many private lessons, on-course playing lessons, family lessons, etc. There is no way this could have happened without Jim Perez’s excellent instruction and the valuable teaching and marketing tools I received from the USGTF.

Being a little nervous at first, I found myself looking at notes during the first couple of lessons to assure that there would be no “lapse in instruction,” but after getting a couple under my belt, it just felt so natural and easy to draw upon the things I learned (especially regarding the setup, and how a swing affects the ball flight).

At this point, I teach at both McKay Creek Golf Course in Hillsboro, Oregon, and King City Golf Course in King City, Oregon. I’ve had tons of group lessons going, primarily small group clinics for juniors, beginners, and women-only groups. This is not to say I haven’t had plenty of private lessons, couples lessons, and on-course playing lessons. I believe I’ve taught over 300 lessons since May!

It has been a lot of work in terms of organizing my schedule and continuing to market myself, but I have found my niche and am so happy with my career choice that I wanted to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to the whole USGTF organization. You have helped me find my true calling, and it feels great.
